Reserve Your Space in Cyberspace

On Monday April 24th, 2023, I had the wonderful opportunity to serve as a panelist on Career Night at Connetquot High School. Throughout the course of the evening, I spoke with many students about my career in digital media, as well as entrepreneurship. Regardless of what their interests and intentions were about the career they were seeking, I ended each conversation with them with the same closing discussion.

Brand Yourself!

“You are living in a world where your online presence and reputation are extremely important” I told each student. “Keep all of your social profiles updated to date, your comments and posts non controversial, and maintain a good, overall online presence. Today, when applying for college or a job, life goes beyond the traditional paper resume.”

Whether talking to a potential employer, a college administration office, or just friends and family, the most impressive words you can say to someone these days is, “Visit my website.” So, I recommended they start building their online presence by registering their own personal web domain.

Why do I need my own personal domain?

Secure Your Space on the Web

Having your own web domain gives you your own personal direct address online. It is your very own unique identity on the web, easy to remember, and you can customize the destination.

Brand Your Identity

Your name is your brand! When people want to find you online, it’s much easier to just give them your name as a web address, rather than have them remember lengthy, custom URL’s to social profiles, blogs and other third party websites.

Make a Great Impression

We all like to show off from time to time! Give friends, family, fellow students and coworkers your personal domain name, and they’ll be able to instantly view information about you. Plus, imagine how professional your personal domain would look on your own letterhead, business card, email signature and more.

Point it Anywhere!

Your domain can go anywhere you want it to. Your personal website (recommended), Facebook page, LinkedIn profile, blog, YouTube channel and much more.

How much does a personal domain cost?

It’s CHEAP! For about the price of about two cups of coffee, you can reserve your personal domain on the internet.
